Mixing Vintage China

Using fine bone china at each place setting is a pretty detail for a vintage wedding or celebration. Don’t be afraid of mixing vintage china, it has a charm all of its own and makes a stylish statement. It brings character and can come together nicely with a little playing around. It’s actually not as hard or as time consuming as you may think, just find a common theme in the china setting i.e. colour or pattern, era, or shape. Colours and patterns are the two easiest themes to work with keeping it super simple yet still eye catchingly beautiful.

Colour: so you may first want to consider a colour scheme. This is perhaps the easiest way to put together mismatched china, because similar colours merge well, for instance, china pieces that feature blues, greens and purples, or warmer colours such as reds, oranges, and yellows work well. Leaving out a common colour such as pink or blue also works well.

Floral patterns: A rose floral is common among vintage china. You could choose small flowers over large ones or regal and ornate patterns over florals.

And you know what… just whip all colours, florals and shapes together without any thought or fuss, you will still be overwhelmed by the true beauty of an eclectic setting.

It’s great fun swapping this bit for that bit. When you get that winning combination its picture’ness and very satisfying!
